Anonymous asked: I’ve been planning on writing a story for a while. The only problem is I can’t get motivated to actually write it because when it’s on paper it the writing is so bad it makes me mad and I quit. Do you have any tips on self motivation?
And think about this: All writers feel doubt. All writers do, sometimes, worry that they are not good enough. But no matter how angry you get at the words you’ve written, they could never be as much of a waste as the words you never wrote down.
There’s this website called whatwouldyoudoifyouwerentafraid.com, and on it is a chronicle of what-ifs, of might-have-beens. So many of them are related to writing. Don’t let that be you.
So I’ll ask you now, what would you do if you could let go of your doubt? What would you do if you worked toward a goal, worked to improve your writing rather than clinging to painful self-criticism?

Love,
The Team
